This past week, we held daily programming for our students at O'Brien School for the Maasai in Northern Tanzania, East Africa. Students learned about a diverse array of female role models who are brave, who stick up for what they believe in, who break boundaries and more. Girls taught girls, and boys participated and were involved in all of the learning. The boys even taught younger classes about Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai. The week cumulated in a big celebration on Friday, where we invited a guest speaker, a young woman with Maasai heritage who has overcome unbelievable odds to achieve her goals to come and encourage our girls. It was a special week and I'm so happy that I was a part of it. Check out my other posts throughout the week on the Instagram for OBSM, https://www.instagram.com/obrienschoolmaasai/?hl=en.
